ကနေဒါဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာကွန်ဂရက်ဥက္ကဋ္ဌဆရာတော်၏ ဖိတ်ကြားချက်အရ ကနေဒါနိုင်ငံဆိုင်ရာ မြန်မာသံရုံးယာယီတာဝန်ခံ/သံအမတ်ကြီး ဦး‌ဇော်ထွန်းဦးသည် (၃၁-၅-၂၀၂၆) ရက်၊ (၁၅:၃၀)နာရီ တွင် အော်တာဝါမြို့ရှိ Ottawa Masonic Center ၌ ကနေဒါဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာ ကွန်ဂရက်မှ ကြီးမှူး ကျင်းပ သည့် ဗုဒ္ဓနေ့အထိမ်းအမှတ်အခမ်းအနားသို့ တက်ရောက်ခဲ့ပါသည်။
အခမ်းအနားတွင် တက်ရောက်လာသူများက ငါးပါးသီလခံ ယူဆောက်တည်ကြပြီးနောက် ကနေဒါဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာကွန်ဂရက်၏ ဥက္ကဋ္ဌဆရာတော် Venerable Bhante Jinananda Thero က ဩဝါဒကထာများ ချီးမြှင့်ခဲ့ပါသည်။ ထို့နောက် အခမ်းအနားသို့ တက်ရောက်လာကြသည့် အထူး ဧည့်သည်တော်များအနက် ကနေဒါနိုင်ငံဆိုင်ရာ မြန်မာသံရုံးယာယီတာဝန်ခံ/ သံအမတ်ကြီးနှင့် သီရိလင်္ကာသံရုံးယာယီတာဝန်ခံတို့က ဗုဒ္ဓနေ့ပူဇော်ပွဲနှင့် ပတ်သက်၍ အမှတ်တရစကားများ ပြော ကြားခဲ့ကြရာတွင် မြန်မာသံရုံးယာယီတာဝန်ခံ/ သံအမတ်ကြီး ဦးဇော်ထွန်းဦးက ဗုဒ္ဓမြတ်စွာဘုရား ဖွားမြင်တော်မူခြင်း၊ ဘုရားအဖြစ်သို့ ရောက်ရှိတော်မူခြင်းနှင့် ပရိနိဗ္ဗာန်စံဝင်တော်မူခြင်းဟူသည့် အမြတ်ဆုံးသော ဖြစ်စဉ်သုံးရပ်ကို အောက်မေ့သတိရသည့် နေ့ထူးနေ့မြတ်အဖြစ် ကမ္ဘာတစ်ဝန်းရှိ ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာဝင်များက Vesak Day ကို အလေးအမြတ်ပြု ကျင်းပလျက်ရှိကြောင်း၊ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ တွင်လည်း ကဆုန်လပြည့် ဗုဒ္ဓနေ့ကို နိုင်ငံတစ်ဝန်း စည်ကားသိုက်မြိုက်စွာ ကျင်းပလေ့ရှိကြောင်း၊ ထို့ပြင် ဗုဒ္ဓ၏ မေတ္တာ၊ ကရုဏာ၊ သည်းခံမှုနှင့် အသိသတိရှိစွာ နေထိုင်ကျင့်ကြံခြင်းဆိုင်ရာ အဆုံး အမများသည် ယနေ့ကမ္ဘာကြီး ပိုမိုငြိမ်းချမ်း၍ သဟဇာတဖြစ်သော လူ့အသိုက်အဝန်းတစ်ရပ် တည် ဆောက်ရေးအတွက် အရေးပါကြောင်း ထည့်သွင်းပြောကြားခဲ့ပါသည်။ ထို့အပြင် ကနေဒါနိုင်ငံ၌ ဗုဒ္ဓ ဘာသာဝင်ဦးရေ ၅၀၀,၀၀၀ ကျော်ရှိနေပြီဖြစ်၍ ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာ၏ ယဉ်ကျေးမှုနှင့် အမွေအနှစ်များကို အသိအမှတ်ပြုဂုဏ်ပြုသည့်အနေဖြင့် မေလကို ဗုဒ္ဓအမွေအနှစ်လ (Buddhist Heritage Month) အဖြစ် သတ်မှတ်နိုင်ရေးအတွက် ကနေဒါဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာကွန်ဂရက်မှ ဦးဆောင်ဆောင်ရွက်နေမှုများကို ချီးကျူးဂုဏ်ပြုကြောင်းနှင့် ယင်းဆောင်ရွက်မှုများသည် ကနေဒါနိုင်ငံ၏ ဘာသာရေးနှင့် ယဉ်ကျေးမှု မျိုးစုံအတူ ယှဉ်တွဲနေထိုင်ရေးကို ပိုမိုအားကောင်းစေမည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ပြောကြားခဲ့ပါသည်။ အခမ်း အနားသို့ ကနေဒါရှိ ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာဘုန်းတော်ကြီးကျောင်းများမှ ဆရာတော်သံဃာတော်များ၊ သံတမန် အသိုက်အဝန်းမှ ကိုယ်စားလှယ်များ၊ လွှတ်တော်ကိုယ်စားလှယ်များနှင့် ကနေဒါနိုင်ငံရှိ ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာ ဝင်များ တက်ရောက်ခဲ့ကြကြောင်း သိရှိရပါသည်။

Myanmar Chargé d’Affaires /Ambassador to Canada Attends Vesak Day Commemoration Organized by the Buddhist Congress of Canada

At the invitation of the President of the Buddhist Congress of Canada, U Zaw Tun Oo, Chargé d’Affaires /Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Canada, attended the Vesak Day Commemoration Ceremony organized by the Buddhist Congress of Canada at Ottawa Masonic Center in Ottawa at 3:30 p.m. on 31 May 2026.
The ceremony commenced with the observance of the Five Precepts by the participants, followed by a Dhamma sermon delivered by Venerable Bhante Jinananda Thero, President of the Buddhist Congress of Canada. Subsequently, among the distinguished guests attending the event, the Chargé d’Affaires /Ambassador of Myanmar and the Chargé d’Affaires a.i of the Embassy of Sri Lanka delivered commemorative remarks on the occasion of Vesak Day.
In his remarks, U Zaw Tun Oo highlighted that Vesak Day is observed by Buddhists around the world as a sacred occasion commemorating the three most significant events in the life of the Buddha: His Birth, Enlightenment, and Parinibbana. He noted that in Myanmar, Vesak Day, known as the Full Moon Day of Kasone, is celebrated nationwide with great reverence and devotion. He further emphasized that the Buddha’s teachings on loving-kindness, compassion, tolerance, and mindfulness remain highly relevant in today’s world and are essential for fostering a more peaceful and harmonious global community.
Chargé d’Affaires /Ambassador also commended the efforts of the Buddhist Congress of Canada in promoting recognition of the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Buddhism in Canada. He noted that Canada is now home to more than 500,000 Buddhists and expressed his appreciation for the Congress’s leadership in advocating for the designation of May as Buddhist Heritage Month. He further remarked that such initiatives would contribute to strengthening intercultural understanding, religious diversity, and social cohesion within Canadian society.
The ceremony was attended by Buddhist monks from various temples across Canada, members of the diplomatic corps, parliamentarians, and members of the Buddhist community in Canada.
